SIX-CAR TITLE CHALLENGE

Sheikh Khalid Al Qassimi

Sheikh Khalid Al Qassimi is spearheading a six-car challenge by Abu Dhabi Racing in the 2014 FIA Middle East Rally Championship.

Al Qassimi, who won the regional title in 2004, is contesting the championship at the wheel of an Abu Dhabi Citroën Total WRC Team DS3 RRC in partnership with Northern Irish co-driver Chris Patterson.

The all-Emirati Abu Dhabi Racing driver line-up also features Mohammed Al Mutawaa, Mohammed Al-Sahlawi, Saeed Bin Touq, Mansour Belhelei, and Juma Al Falasia, each driving Citroën DS3 R3 2WDs in the Junior and 2WD championships.The six crews are supported by a 30-strong team of engineers, technicians and senior management, making it the most powerful team ever-assembled in the regional series’ 30-year history.

Citroën  Abu Dhabi On World Stage

Abu Dhabi Racing has entered the second year in a long-term partnership with eight-time World Rally Championship manufacturers winners, Citroën Racing.

The UAE capital’s association with Citroën on the WRC stage was instigated by Abu Dhabi Racing as part of a concentrated programme designed to reinforce the emirate’s global motorsport stature.

Northern Ireland’s Kris Meeke and Norway’s Mads Ostberg are contesting all 13 nominated WRC rounds this season with the Citroën Total Abu Dhabi World Rally Team.

Sheikh Khalid Al Qassimi is competing in four selected WRC events in Sweden, Portugal, Italy and Spain.
